Who is Carol, and How Does She Make Money Online?

I’m just a farm gal from Nebraska and my journey to working on the Internet is kind of long and detailed, but I’ll try to keep it short so you don’t get bored.

I’m not a professional writer. I’m sure as heck not a Webmaster. I didn’t even know how to get an email until about 6 years ago.

I’m just a woman who’s had to work hard and smart all her life. When life throws you a curve, you have to bend a bit, sometimes a LOT.

I’ve been married and divorced, and I have two grown boys and six grandbabies back in NE.

I’ve done it all…

I’ve done just about every JOB out there. I’ve checked in a grocery store, been a janitor, a maintenance supervisor, I’ve welded mufflers, managed quality control, yada, yada, yada…

I’ve owned a couple T-shirt shops, a ton of work from home ventures and my last business was as an over-the-road truck driver.

Yup, I bought a big Kenworth and ran it all over the US and Canada for a good long time.
I was thinking I could travel and get paid at the same time. Right!!! It was a good living and I saw a lot of country, but…

My beloved Mom fell and did some major damage, then needed full time care a few years back. A nursing home just wasn’t the answer, so I sold the truck and came home to care for her. She stayed with me for almost 5 years and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

That’s when I had to find a way to make a living from my kitchen table…

So I bought a computer and started surfing the net. I tried about every Tom, Dick and Harry’s scheme out there. I failed miserably… but I never gave up.

I knew that there were people making money online and if they could, SO WOULD I! Well, I finally found my niche market and never looked back. I’m still learning every day. Still making money right from my kitchen table…

Mom passed away last year at 90 years young and I was so glad we had that time together.

A few months later I met Denis when we teamed up to win top distributor honors in an online company. We decided to keep the team together and I moved to Ohio. Now I have a soul mate and best friend and 4 of the cutest puppies you’ll ever see.

We travel frequently and love living out in the country with our pack. The only thing different is that now my kitchen table is sometimes a laptop on my knees as we drive down the road.

Blessings from my kitchen table…

    Hello Carol:

I’m another newbie and I have to say that I’ve spent days searching the internet and am basically overwhelmed with so many possibilities. However, what I do know is that I really like your site/blog. The feel is very mid western/down home good folks. I love it. I have what I consider a good concept – actually a great concept IMHO. No product but expert (me) information to share ……… but I just don’t know which direction to take. Your information is terrific and has really helped me to understand the value of twitter. I think I have lots of pieces to a puzzle but I haven’t been able to figure out how to put it all together. If I may ask, did you create your own site using a template, a specific, application or did you hire someone to create it for you. I’ve been reviewing “Site View It” . I’m trying to decide if I want to create my own site using templates. I just don’t know ……… Any suggestions? Thanks, j

      Hi Joan,

I know just how you feel. Took me a while too. I used to be a truck driver for God’s sake. :0) No tech skills here. I started with any MLM and it taught me how to talk to and deal with people on a daily basis. You have to be you. I’ve been told I need to make my site more professional and techie. That’s not me. It’s people like you that I am attracting. People I can relate to.
I have upgraded my blog many times in the last few years. I have a friend who tweaks it for me once and a while, but mostly do it myself. I really can’t say I would do templates. Too confining. I’d just start simple and go from there as you learn. You need a blog (much easier than a website) as your homebase. Then you can use many ways to send traffic to it. I use social media. (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Ezine Articles, etc.) Twitter is by far the easiest and fastest for me. If you want faster results, you can use a paid service like Adwords. (A steep learning curve and $$$.)

After you start getting traffic, start putting monetization products on the blog and review products that have worked for you. If they are working for you, it comes across and you can help others make it work for them. :0) My phone is 740-392-8883 if you’d like to chat in person. I am available most of the time and do return messages, so please leave one.

I’ll definitely share what I know with you. I have many affiliate products out there. I have about a half dozen ebooks I’ve written out. I still work my MLM, but totally online. I have 27 blogs and 25 websites working for me. Don’t recommend doing all this at first, but just to tell you where I am. I totally work from home and have for over 7 years now. Let me know if I can help.

      Carol
